About The Artist

I’m a North Idaho–based watercolor and mural artist, born and raised in Coeur d’Alene. Growing up here meant growing up surrounded by a thriving creative community. Annual gatherings like Art on the Green made a lasting impression on me as a child — watching artists set up booths, paint on-site, and share their work so openly planted the belief that art could be both meaningful and attainable.

I was especially fortunate to be encouraged early on by my art teacher and neighbor, Anne Couser, whose guidance and presence in the local arts helped shape my understanding of discipline, technique, and dedication to the craft. That foundation continues to influence the way I approach my work today.

Watercolor has become my primary medium because of its luminosity and movement. I’m drawn to the balance it requires — patience and control layered with spontaneity and flow. Many of my paintings take dozens, sometimes over a hundred hours to complete. I love spending that time studying the details of a place — the way light settles on Lake Coeur d’Alene, the character of a historic building, or the presence of wildlife moving through familiar landscapes. I’m not just painting a scene; I’m preserving a feeling of home.

In recent years, my creative practice has expanded into window art and large-scale mural work. There’s something incredibly powerful about creating art in public spaces — work that becomes part of a neighborhood’s identity and interacts with people in their everyday lives. Murals and storefront windows allow me to bring the same attention to detail and sense of place from my watercolor practice onto a larger, more communal canvas.

My work is rooted in appreciation — for the region that raised me, for the artists who inspired me, and for the ongoing growth that comes from following creative instincts. Whether on paper, glass, or a building wall, my goal is always the same: to create pieces that honor this place and resonate with the people who call it home.
